I just received a Sekmeht digital that I'm putting on my FX Dreamline Tac. A rubber lined metal washer was also included. Unfortunately there was no information concerning its function. Does anyone know what it does? Does it have to be used on every installation or is it an optional spacer for some installations? If used, should it have silicone grease?

Lots of ways of sealing things.
The Dowty seal there is one. I have never lubed a dowty seal. If your old gauge has a Dowty seal than use the new one on your new gauge.
If it doesn't then it probly has an o-ring or teflon seal at the bottom of the threads that will seal it. They don't often need replaced. Just install the new gauge with the old seal.

Dave, I received these as well with the two Sekhmet's I received. Did not need them for my FX Maverick.

In my ignorance, I installed it on my Maverick and it made it leak.
Replaced with x-ring and all is good. Now it seems like I may not even need the x-ring lolUpvote 0
Was in the box with the gauge I just received as well. I just wish the gauge itself worked.
