My Veteran Outshoots My PRS .22 at 70yds!

My brother-in-law was in town for a couple of days from Tennessee. Today before his flight back, I took him out to the outdoor range I belong to.

I set up a Know Your Limits target at 70 yds. and we started having a fun morning of shooting.

The target, for those who don't know about KYL targets yet. It goes from 2" targets to 1/4" targets in 1/4" increments. (seriously fun target to shoot at).

We set up with my Taipan Veteran Standard in .22 and my Bergara B14R with match grade .22LR ammo. We had a great time shooting but one thing surprised me. My Veteran actually was outshooting my PRS .22LR! I couldn't believe it! I just have a cheap $99.00 4-14X scope on my Veteran and an expensive 6-24X FFP scope on my PRS .22LR. Shooting the last 1/4" target with the Veteran was almost too easy at 70 yds. Sure, I missed a couple times, but both me and my brother-in-law was hitting that little target 8 out of 10 shots. With my PRS 22LR and expensive scope, my brother in law and I missed more than we hit that 1/4" target.

Anyway, this was the first time my brother-in-law shot a quality airgun. All he's ever shot were the old multipump Daisys and the like. To say he was blown away is an understatement! He told me that after today, as soon as he gets back to Tennessee, he is going to sell a couple AR's and buy a nice PCP Rifle for himself.

Just a few short weeks into my first PCP ownership and I got a convert!
