My thoughts on the Tac Vector Veyron scope.

Well I needed another scope to replace the ancient 4X AO Bushnell Sportview on my 2240 pistol as there was just not enough magnification for me to see the tiny things I often shoot at with my now old eyes. So as I often do I went to visit the Cyclops channel on Airgun 101 and checked out the reviews. Looking for something light with at least 6x magnification and fairly compact when I stumbled on the review of the Veyron. It seemed it would do well enough although I really did not need a first focal plane scope.

Upon receipt of the scope and opening it up it I thought was just light enough, very well built and the compact size would do fine. Then I looked through it and thought it to be a be a big mistake. It looked fine at 12X but at three power I could barely see the reticle. For that matter the reticle does not get very usable for me until 6 or 8 power. It is likely useless I thought to myself I did not think it would make that much difference.

Now I know that the reticle on first focal plain scopes changes with the power one dials in because I have three more. But all three of them use a heavy post like a duplex scope in conjunction with the reticle so when one dials down the power the thick post comes into play and the thin reticle is barely visible in the center of the posts and werqs well for the cross-hair. But the people at Tac Vector instead made the post a thin outline of a post so it gets hard to see with the rest of the reticle making the lower powers not to friendly to me. The scope is at best a 6 to 12 power scope unless your eyes are younger/better than mine so you can see the thinner lines.

Now although all of this sounds really bad, it is not, I do not shoot this pistol at less than 25 yards, usually shoot at 50, and I am on a bench so the reduced field of view I end up with is acceptable. But for all intents and purposes I think the scope is portrayed as something it is not. I am a bit disappointed but the truth is for anyone wanting a hunting scope that can do the close up and personal shots quickly with a decent field of view this may not be the one. For distances of near 10 yards and better and where the field of view of 3 to 5 power is not needed this tics all the boxes and is great little lightweight compact scope.

I would hope that someone at Tac-Vector would take this under serious consideration as it would be a wonderful scope for short and long ranges if the posts were just colored in. Lines that are a tiny bit thicker would be helpful, for those with aging eyes, as well.

I got the DISCOVERY version of that so dies a bud who has that exact TAC VEC VEY scope you're better off with the DISCOVERY VT3 SPINOFF if you've got an invisible reticle problem. The Disco has a BETTER RETICLE THAN THE SWFA SS!!! Yo!

I fergot all about the Discovery when I was out lookin around. Darn! This will werq for me for what I do with the gun but if I want to shoot closer at the lower 3-5 powers I will remember the Discovery next time.

Yes Yo in right.Discovery ED have Hoya glass and incredible clear. My friend taste over 20 scopes and told me than no seen better. But only what have 6x24 no have bigger magnification.

Good opnion is Taurus 5x30 if you want bigger.I just looking that and probbably go with this.

Athlon have great scopes for price. But is much more money and not more clear.

I spoke with man who have all and told me that.Chinese scope is good opnion for value.
