Well here's a few pictures of my slug gun build. 35 Cal Cricket converted to a 25 Cal
with a 1 in 22" twist 26 inch long barrel.
I finally decided I wanted to do this project. Since last year I had bought a mill, lathe
and all the necessary tooling for them. Figured I may as well find out where the on button
was and make a few parts. I'm no machinist, but there just machines that seem to make what
I need without too much trouble. Just slow as molasses that's all.
So far I've been quite pleased with the build. The finished look is what I was envisioning.
Best accuracy so far has been the 35 grain 965 FPS to 37 grain at 950 FPS.
Shot a few 30.5 grain slugs (my stock crickets favorite) at 1015 FPS.
Probably just a bit too fast for them. Not the best groups.
Testing different slugs yesterday was tough because of that wind.
Well just need to finish making two mags and the LDC for the thing.
Needs a fixed power scope too. 20X or 24X and ultra-lightweight, to use with the optimizer.
That stock picatiny rail and the optimizer is too much. Oh well, one more part.......
UPDATE ! ! !
Here's how the gun is finished up.
Shooting a 38gr. slug at 936 FPS for about 75 FPE has been the best so far.
I've shot this gun enough to say that in .25 cal. more FPE makes a BIG difference on consistency at longer ranges.
This is my "go to" gun now. I've been so amazed at it's ability to accurately and consistently hit hard out to 225 yards that I made a few Youtube videos to share what a Hot .25 cal. PCP can do. In calm to no wind this video sums it up.

This gun build was the best choice for me to have a reliable powerful .25 cal. slug gun.
I can still power tune it too! MORE POWER !!!!!!
