My SINCEREST APOLOGY for the pictures on our Memorial Day Coupon. PLEASE READ

When my sons were very young, they were taught to approach people in uniform and say "Thank you for your service". We have always respected those in uniform.

When I posted our Memorial weekend coupon, I was attempting to make a post that was solemn, and respectful. I had pictures that were of families at grave sites, mourning loved ones. I didn't want to post "HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY", when it is all about those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
John 15:13 states: "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends".

One member respectfully pointed out that those pictures could cause those that lost loved ones pain. That was in no way my intention, and I am truly sorry if it caused anyone pain. I have removed the pictures. If I did, I never meant to hurt anyone.

I am not asking for forgiveness, as that is a gift from you to me. I am truly apologizing if I hurt anyone's feeling, which is from me to you.

You're heart was in the right place. Most people see a 3 day weekend & forget the solemnity of its basis( which we should ALL remember).
A heartfelt THANK YOU (& Bless you) to all who have put themselves in harm's way so we are able to feel safe & live free! NEVER forget the respect that the ones who protect us deserve! (I don't think for a minute that you forgot that Joe! Just that the wording might be misconstrued by some)

I had to plead and beg to get my mom to sign off on allowing me to join the National Guard on my 17th birthday. I served a year of weekend drill before graduation then off to boot camp. That was 26 years ago next Thursday. I carry challenge coins everyday to hand out to veterans (My brothers and sisters) that served. Every Saturday morning at the local coffee shop 30-40 veterans from Vietnam to today meet up and make sure we're all okay. I missed being deployed by 2 weeks. My 6 years were up and my unit went to Iraq without me. I lost a few good friends that year. Call it a blessing or a curse. Could have been me that didn't come home or it could have been me that made sure they could. I'll never know. I carry this coin proudly and if you read it closely and think of the meaning behind it you'll hopefully understand that those brave men and women that truly gave it all, paved the way for us to celebrate.

What you shared was truth. No hurt feels here. Even those who were blessed to come home are not who they left as.
