My RAW HM1000X .25 took gold in Oregon this weekend!

Im using the factory barrel, and the Altaros 50gr smooth slugs.
Great job Cameron!

My RAW HM1000X .22 has a polygonal barrel designed for pellets. I have great accuracy for 30 and 40Y ( and N50 ) target challenge shooting. Don’t know the EFT long distance discipline.

Is your .25 a Poly? I’m not used to seeing RAWs have much success with slugs, so your post was a shock to me. Fantastic results.

I have a Polygon Twist barrel in my RAW. It was made before the slug thing became an interest. I have tried to shoot the same weight slug as the AEA Center Punch @33.9 that prints good paper, but the slug won't group very well?? Do you have an auxiliary plenum mounted? Thanks, Bill
The current RAW .22-.30cal barrels are also polygonal rifled as they have been since before the purchase by AirForce.

Yes there is a plenum on Cam's gun. I suggest you try some different brand slugs and shoot at many different velocities to find the sweet spot. I find they are more finicky than pellets when searching for ultimate precision.

Hi, I have the RAW1000x also in 25cal. You said you are shooting slugs but you did not say what you had to do as far as barrel? I would like to shoot slugs with mine but my trials so far have not been going well.My gun shoots the AEA CenterPunch 33.9 very well but the same weight slug just won't make paper...?? I'm in Oregon.
Thanks
Bill

Shooting slugs exceptionally well takes a barrel with No Choke and slug to bore sizing well matched.
