My RAW HM1000X .25 took gold in Oregon this weekend!

Hey guys!

Fresh off of the weekend at the Ashland Oregon benchrest, EFT and long-range shoot.

I did not do extremely well on benchrest, took 7th overall in EFT, but I was able to secure a win in the long range competition.

Targets were placed at 140, 167, 187, 249 and 298 yards. With the farthest target being 60 MOA of adjustment you can say it was quite a poke.

As always I like to bring my neighbor with me to events and he was my spotter.

The gun I chose to use was my RAW HM1000X in .25 caliber fitted with an Athlon Midas Tac 5-30x56 and my moderator.

Over the past few weeks I have been doing extensive r&d and playing with designs that got my RAWs power up, while maintaining a reasonable regulator pressure, increasing efficiency, shortening lock time and reducing muzzle report.

At 150 bar I am able to shoot the Altaros smooth 49.5gr slugs at 905-910fps. I can increase reg pressure to reach 100 FPE but prefer the 150 set point.

The gun is extraordinarily docile, makes power extremely easily and clearly does its job at hitting the target!

With the tune that I am performing I'm able to maintain the original 60 FPE+ power level at a much lower regulator set point giving an additional 1 to 2 magazines per fill.

Big shout out to RAW, and Athlon optics for making quality equipment that helped me be successful at this event!

Some more info:
Max power achieved in each caliber I have tested, and power recommended per caliber. This is with the plenum installed.

.22 max 80fpe, recommended 74fpe
.25 max 102fpe, recommend 90fpe
.30 max 122fpe, recommend 110fpe max

The recommended max is keeping the regulator in the factory setpoint of 150 + or - 5 bar.

Congrats @Kerndtc
It was like watching "David vs. Goliath"
the other competitors on the line had HUGE rifles with massive power in a thunderous BOOM
And there was Cameron shooting "pfft".."pfft" "pfft" ...."impact", "Impact', "impact"!!
Awesome to see!!

Airguns to me have always been about doing more, with less (less fpe/noise/hassle). So in this day and age of making airguns powder burners in terms of power, I love to hear of successes from someone shooting with less fpe than the rest of the field.

That was a HOOT !!! Watching this humble little RAW just sending little pills on the mark shot after shot after shot !!!
Cameron was gracious enough in letting me shoot his rifle for a relay after his winning relay & proceeded to to still get on the face plates every shot and two or three into the center area.

Yes Cam has done some seriously fine tuning and custom valve work inside his RAW. It shoots as described being a mild Piff with minimal recoil or noise .... Nice !!!!

Great shooting Cameron and very well played  (y)
