Yep, you're pretty much on track. Selling an airgun creates a negative vortex in the cabinet that sucks in more. I'm scared to sell anything!

I was going to sell my Stoeger X20 and replace it with a Beeman R9, but now I'm scared to. I can't afford a "$2500 R9", hehehe.
On a more serious note, as I look at my arsenal and think of what I could downsize, here's how it goes:
a) Diana 56TH - Recoilless magnum springer, that legitimately fills one slot
b) TX200, 12 FPE- Field target gun and general all-around gun. That legitimately fills one slot
c) HW30s, low power springer. That legitimately fills one slot
d) Marauder, my only PCP. That legitimately fills one slot
e) Stoeger X20, 15 FPE springer. High-but-not-magnum power. That legitimately fills one slot
f) A pump-up Crosman 1377: Not worth the trouble of selling
g) A Daisy 953: single-pump target rifle.That legitimately fills one slot
h) A Daisy 717, single-pump target pistol. That legitimately fills one slot
i) Crosman 2300T: CO2 pistol. That legitimately fills one slot
j) Daisy 1200 CO2 BB pistol. Not worth the trouble of selling, plus has dried-out seals.
k) Crosman 357: Not worth the trouble of selling.

- sold an Ataman M2 Tactical Carbine, bought back a CZ 455 Varmint in 22LR with GRS stock (no empty slot here)
Airguns:
- FX Independence .22 with Hawke Sidewinder 8/32*56 scope
- Weihrauch HW30S with diopter sights
- Diana 340 N-Tec with Discovery Optics 6/24*50 scope
- Feinwerkbau 300S with diopter sights
- Crosman 2240 with Bluefork trigger group, GMac steel breech and red dot sigths
Still on my wish list:
- Feinwerkbau 300S Universal
- a bigger or extra safe so I have an excuse to get more guns
