Ok the wife & grand children are all off to Church. Leaves me some tranquil time to enjoy a drink & bake Sunday dinner. Next to squirrel hunting cooking is my passion.
As the photo shows I am partial to BP for my squirrel hunting iron. Why? First, I am not a shooter. I am not like a lot of guys on here, I sight my guns in, shoot them occasionally to get proficient & comfortable with them. Then I take them on long treks on NF lands to stalk the tree squirrel. The BP is just a wonderful & natural shooting tool for this style of hunting. However now & then I long for a rifle, not sure why, maybe to take me back to my youth.
I have tried several PCP rifles in the last ten years & have liked a few , loved none. The one that has come closes to my affection is the Streamline .22. It is light & reasonably short . ( the Regal is close, but not enough energy for my wants) The Streamline has been on loan to a friend who has been confined to a wheel chair. I might say he has been grateful for the use of it. Well that is not really the rifle I want anyway. I know you are getting bored and will go off to the next post & that is fine, this babble is more for me than it is anyone else.
Ok, my perfect rifle. An FX Streamline, Synthetic in .25 cal, with a short air tube ( 20-30 full power shots is enough) , that does not extend much, if any past the front of the forearm. The barrel & shroud at least as short as the .22 version & a tad shorter would be fine. Naturally I want this rifle to propel the 25 grain JSB at 950 FPS. The whole thing needs to be camo dipped. With sling studs. And a Kentucky Rifle style patchbox on the right side ( side opposite cheek side) , to hold two spare mags. see photo below. Oh, a 15inch LOP would be perfect, or an adjustable one, however I can modify that myself.
FX make that & call it the " Nutcracker Special" I will buy it . , No , I don't care what they call it, I will buy it.
