I came across this rifle years ago on Craigslist of all places. I didn’t have the cash at the time to purchase it but a buddy did buy it. It got passed to another buddy and now has come full circle and lives with me.
I wanted one of these so bad years ago after reading the attached article written by Wade Sutherland.
I have never seen another one in the wild and I could have the story wrong but I think around the time of production Anschutz acquired Steyr and they focused on the LG rifles.
Anyway, here are some picks of another old obsolete Field Target relic. Rifle is incredibly accurate and to me has one of the prettiest stocks. For some reason the camera will not pick up the true color of the wood. It is showing much yellower in the pictures and is green in person.
