My New Sniper HR — chronoed shot strings added

I have read some differences of experience regarding this issue reported by others. I however, have found the magazine to be exceptionally accurate and for the most part, no longer use the single shot tray.

That magazine is really excellent in my experience. Though mine is the exac. aeac cleaned in his video, so its not surprising i find it accurate just as steve did.

I shot six strings two with JSB 18s on power level 6 and 1

two with AA Diablo Field 16s on power level 4 and 1

two with Crosman Premiers on power level 3 and 1

At some future point I’ll run the 3 weights at levels I didn’t get this time around. Big difference in energy levels between level 6 and level 1.

I just recently(this past Tuesday) got the .22 cal Sniper Magnum and my power knob only has 4 positions. I purchased it from AoA, I was going to give them a call about this....anyone know if Brocok has made a revision on this?

I just received my Bantam HR in .25 a couple weeks ago and it only has 4 power levels(3 clicks). I thought mine was broken and called AoA, they told me it was changed. The website still showed 6 positions, but they changed it after I called. I don't see myself needing 6 different power levels, so it's not a huge deal for me. I just got my scope in yesterday and will be taking it out tomorrow to shoot some squirrels.

@kopfjaeger and gijake, gentlemen do post up your impressions of your personal Bantams when you get a chance. So far I’m loving mine, just like the Compatto very accurate and not pellet fussy at all. I was hitting black walnuts from 40 to 64 yards yesterday with the cheap Crosman Premier HPs you get at Walmart for $6 a tin. The Bantam is a very solid PCP, at its price point it offers way more value than the other similarly priced PCPs. Doesn’t get the press, but if you want a gun you can plink and pest with and want autonomy in the field? 100 plus shots at energy levels from 33 to 13 FPE by switching out pellets and adjusting the transfer port settings. Right out the box this gun just performs, no tinkering, troubleshooting, etc. The people who put together the Bantam, understood how a rifle is used in the field, they have put out a dandy gun that “will” stand the test of time and thousands of pellets down range. Quiet without an LDC attached (no added expense), short, powerful, handy... The HR stands for home run. Brocock hit it out the park with this PCP rifle.

Some quickly sent groups at 25 yards with Crosman Premiers (domes and HPs). I was playing with the transfer port settings...

About the power levels (transfer port adjustment) on my .22 Compatto the difference in energy levels between the “3” positions was not enough on low to allow safe indoor pesting. On the Bantam HR at level 1 (13 FPE) with Crosman Premier HPs I’m taking out sparrows in a barn from 15-25 yards. You know I’m getting pass thrus, but there are no holes through the roof. Being able to go from a 50 yard shot to one at 15 yards by simply turning a wheel is awesome.

Hello Gents,

I ran some some shot strings over the chrony for each power level, 15.89g JSB .22 cal, 250 bar fill for each string and reg pressure about 155 bar

PL-4 1066 1064 1061 1061 1056 1057 1056 1055 1054 1053

PL-3 1004 1006 1005 1006 1004 1004 1004 1000 1000 1005

PL-2 902 900 899 897 897 893 894 897 897 897

PL-1 747 741 743 743 736 736 738 740 733 738

I've only got about 300 rounds through it and have not done anything except punch the bore and plink 1" steel spinners at about 70 yds. I am loving it so far!! If the weather cooperates tomorrow...looking forward to getting it zeroed and seeing what it can do on paper. I need to order a variety of ammo...I am really hoping it shoots slugs well...fingers crossed!!

Those are some impressive numbers. You need heavier pellets. Maybe you might want to start a separate thread to chronicle your journey with your Bantam Sniper HR, HP? Especially shooting slugs, would be interested in your results. Congratulations on your new gun.

I’m really bummed I had not (?) seen, noticed, passed by this thread.

I saw it today around 7pm and have been reading on it ever since (Little by Little)

Congrats on the gun, sounds like a keeper! If I get another Brocock it may be that Mini, that one calls to me. Unless I find an older non regulated .177, not sure. Will see.

I sold my old Compatto out of confusion and fear. Was having some troubles that I, with all my inexperience at the time, knew to be the Omega tank fill valve, but AoA wanted me to send in the gun. Turned out I was right after all. They eventually took care of me on the tank, but I had lost confidence and sold the gun. The only annoying thing was the bolt and the probe o-ring. Does yours ever “blow back” when shooting? I had to replace the O-ring a few times because of that.

My Compatto has thousands of pellets down range and is still on it original probe o-ring. No blow back. I find the bolt to be very easy to cock and it gets smoother over time. The Compatto so blew me away with its accuracy and consistency that I knew my next gun would also be a Brocock. If the Bantams went to side levers and kept everything else the same... many on the fence would see the light. They are solid guns. Will post up another string at all six power levels with Crosman Premiers soon.

Brococks are awesome shooters. I’ll put mine up against any redwolf or impact any day. .25 34gr mk2 @ 930 fps one ( not ragged) I mean one hole at 50 yards. If the stars align Ive done some 10 shot groups at 100 under 5/8’s but Im still learning wind calls. With just a little tuning and honing these guns are amazing. Im going to purchase another in .177 for plinking.
