My New Sniper HR — chronoed shot strings added

The HR stands for home run! I’ve been shooting my Compatto for over a year and was bidding my time on the Sniper. I expect the gun to get more accurate as my shot count goes up. These are my first groups “out the box” after running a few patches through it first. None of these groups are cherrypicked. I shot about 150 pellets through it. Was easily hitting black walnut husks and pieces of sidewalk chalk from 50 to 64 yards. Love the oversized bolt, cocks easily, really like not having to stare down the barrel to check the manometer. The gun is lighter than it looks and feels solid. Another poster Dhart, stated that the rifle was so quiet it didn’t need a moderator. I did not believe that statement because my Compatto needs that DonnyFl Tanto. I can now state that the Sniper HR in .22 is backyard friendly without a LDC. This is one heck of a rig and will become my main pester/plinker. I intend to run chrony strings at all the power levels and will post up when I get a chance. I’m very pleased with my new toy and intend to shoot it a lot.

They're great guns. My son has the original Brocock Bantam HiLite and it almost sounds like a toy with a moderator on it because it's so quiet. Accuracy is astounding too and it's the unregulated version. I really would like to try out one of the newer versions. If they're any better at all than my son's gun, which I'm sure it is, then it's a winner! I don't know if it's of any relevance to you but my son's gun loves the JSB 15.89gr. Have fun with your new gun, she's a beauty!

Congratulations on your new rifle. Mine shot like absolute crap until I rebuilt the entire receiver and regulator assembly. Now it is a tack driver and one of my favorite rifles to shoot. I also have the Tonto on mine and it’s quiet as a church mouse. I did have to replace the O-ring on the fill valve after a few months. You’ll probably want to get that O-ring on order just in case you have to replace it.

Thank you gentlemen for the kind replies. @Glem, you know it will be pesting as soon as I can swing it, maybe this weekend. Here is another target of four, 5 shot groups at 50 yards. Shooting 18 gr JSBs. The setup you see is my current bench not very solid, I expect to do better off a proper bench at my club. This is all right out the box. With my Compatto I waited a long time to try the different power levels. But when I did I discovered that at high my JSB 18s zeroed at 50, at medium power my Crosman Premiers zeroed at 50 yards also. So two different zeros very convenient, and I proved the consistency of such through thousands of pellets down range. The same is proving true with the Bantam my 18s on power level 6 and my AA 16s at power level 4 for same POI at 50 yards. This gun is boringly solid, with the Tanto attached the shot sound is non existent. A very smooth shooter that can only get better with time.

Scouty, I believe the Mini is two inches shorter. Dana at https://mountainsportairguns.com/ has a really good review on the Mini and the Sniper.

Thanks. Just got done reading them. I had seen his video review on the mini but hadn't been to his site.

According to him the mini is 34" long with a 17" barrel. Sniper HR is 34.6" with an 18" barrel.

Do any of you guys with the HR or HP notice a big difference when using the magazine vs single loading. I know single loading will always be slightly more accurate but from what I've read they"re exceptionally accurate single loading and not so good with the magazine. I love the looks, not crazy about a bolt action, but can live with it if it accurate.

My Compatto was/is accurate both ways. In the field I use the magazine. On the bench I enjoy single loading, the gun is more accurate than I can shoot it, whether magazine fed or single load. The same if not more applies to the Bantam HR. I have less than a tin of mixed pellets through my Sniper and am already getting great groups. The bolt issue, well, it’s a non-issue, it cocks so smoothly and easily for the power generated.

Many on the forum here prefer the Swedish (FX) and Eastern European girls (Edgun, Crickets, Uragans, etc) and they overlook these British working class lasses. The Bantam HR is an awesome PCP, and though I just got it. I’ve been shooting it’s pappy the Compatto for over a year. So I know awesome accuracy and handling run in the family. Check out this group of casually sent Crosman Premiers at 50 yards on power level 4.
