My new RWS 48

I purchased a new RWS Diana 48 in .22 a couple weeks ago. Initially I ordered a 1" RWS mount but after talking with Leupold I decided to use a 4.5-14 that I had on the shelf so I ordered a base that I could use my Weaver tactical six screw rings on. I've finally got time to shoot a little, boy do I have a lot to learn about shooting springers.

Nice rig & good grouping ( range ?). I had a 48.52 with everything that could be done to it, tune, blueprint, custom stock,... . It was for FT and shot lights out.

Enjoy it a while, get used to however it wants to be held - mine shot exactly 1" highj at 27 yards off a hard surface making sighting easy from a bench- then put in a better spring & quide , I used JM, and WOW.
My squirrel hunting buddy in TN has the .22 48 and has taken well over 1,000 squirrels ( and some ground hogs & such) with it, never an issue.

nice scope

This my first air rifle and I'm pretty excited. I've never shot anything that is this hold sensitive though. The trigger needs some attention, I don't mind the long take up on the first stage, but the second stage creeps before the break. The scope has the B&C reticle, I'm thinking when it get's hot I'll send it back to Leupold and have a Varmint Hunter reticle put in it.

Which trigger? I was thinking the newer T-06 and if so it should be a really outstanding trigger! I had a T01 in the 48/52 and those need some work, and I've fired several of the T-05 triggers David Slade worked on that were good enough for completion.

A good spring guide & lube ( & spring & seal?) makes a HUGE difference if firing behavior.
