@tgardner00 i have never had and FX impact however i did have a FX wildcat that i sold here on AGN to get my first R5 Matador.30 Standard....Since then i have been hooks on Edguns....now to answer your question...the trigger out of the box is kinda stiff and as well as the cocking lever...But thats only because edguns are built to last...in time it will get smoother and with a few adjustment the trigger is nice....my Partner has the fx impact X and within a month he had to send it back for repairs...Edgun on the other hand you can Easily fix any problems you may have (IF) you ever have one...they are built let a tank...and very Accurate...here is a 18 shot group 2 mags each

Mr. 00.

I'll add some comments, Just received my R5M standard yesterday. Like you I was toying between the Impact and the Edgun. Went with the Edgun. I'll not bore you with how I came to this decision. But tonight I did put your thoughts in consideration. Trigger, long first stage, second stage a little heavier than my crown, but I haven't touched it yet. It is crisp. Second question cocking lever: From previous folks statements I expected gravel and a handyman jack pull. Not the case at all. Within 10 test shots I had it down. No it's not the same a on my crown, but I don't have two inches of leverage. The easiest comparison is a double action revolver and a double action auto.

Overall thoughts on fit, finish and design. This is one cool gun. It's a tank, fits great, finish the same, design too cool. The simplicity of the workmanship and quality top notch. I've just done the standard break down so far, but everything fits tight with high tolerances (I come from a machinist background).

If the gun can prove itself on paper like Killemdead's did I'll have to change my opinion to biased. Just a heads up.
