I think my 77 is reaching the end of its break-in period. Today when I was out throwing some rounds down range my groups started closing up nicely. I have roughly 200 rounds through it now in 4 sessions shooting it. I’m really impressed with the iron sites. I’ll be using them until I’m able to get a scope for it.
This was 5 shots @25yds with .22 H&N excite hammers. Haha one got away from me. I’m by no means a great shot, but I’m really happy with the 77 so far.
All HW rifles get better in use or time or pellets.
I have seen this over and over again in every HW model I have.
HW rifles I have:
HW30 .177 from OLD time, HW50S .20 (I have TWO rifles!), HW35E .22 Blue, HW35E .177 Silver, HW35E .177 Blue, HW57 .177, HW95 .177, HW95L .22, HW95L .25, R9 .177, HW80 .177, HW80 .20, HW80K .22, HW80 .25, HW98 .177, HW98 .20, HW98 .25.
FWB .177 Sport, Daystate Huntsman .177 Regal, Beeman Falcon .25 R-x, Theoben Eliminator Gas Ram from 1999 still operating TODAY!
Guess what!
The air rifle GETS Better the MORE you USE it!
That is my final philosophy on what an air rifle should contain: Faithful operation at all times at all years of owning it!
All HWs are gems and worth WAY more than what others spend hard earned cash on like a simple bb gun or some stupid thing in a plastic bubble wrap for pennies dollars hundreds(!) less.
I don't GO there to WASTE my money!
A kind financial statement to air rifle buying to "put your money where your desires are".
Oh.
And then again I have this customized D54 .20 with Lothar Walther drilled barrel installed into the D54 system.
This rifle is big, heavy and cumbersome compared to a simple break barrel. Enough so that I only use it for 105 yards in favor of my usual HW98s for 35 yards and the astonishing HW50S .20's I own. These last two HW50S's in .20 sort of END the game of an air rifle capable to 45 yards.
Kindly again to all wanting to invest in HW like our posting man and why considering HW is always a good deal to compare.
