Well, Saturday March 18th my new Hatsan Barrage .22 came in from BWALTON.COM. The hard case is OK but only large enough for the rifle IE: no room for a mounted scope. That's not a problem for me, but it would have been nice. The Barrage is large and a bit cumbersome. Overall the fit & finish is good but my AT44-10 QE is better and my Evanix MAX is greatly superior. I mounted a top quality Trijicon AccuPower scope and it's almost perfect, only needing slight adjustments. The chronograph says that JSB 15.4 grain pellets are screaming out the barrel at an average of 970 FPS, with less than 4 FPS deviation on a 250 BAR fill. I'm very happy with that. Shooting at 30 yards the Barrage held a group of .75", that's OK but nothing to brag about (but it's a brand new rifle) I assume it will get better. The Semi-Auto cycling is excellent! It works reliably and smoothly. The sound level was good too, at a mere 91dbC weighting. The trigger is heavy and a there's no mention of adjustability in the manual. I sort of understand why that is being semi-auto and the liability associated with it. My last criticism is loading the magazines. It's not terrible but not great either. Overall, the Barrage is adequate in size, function, and performance. For me I really don't believe it was money well spent, but on the other hand the semi-auto really cranks out the shots and acceptably accurate too.
