My NEW GMI SWAG PRESS

Hi so I got my GMI Freedom press , I got it in .22 caliber with a flat base and also a deep Taper base . so it got here in a double vardboard box I opened both to find A plastic shipping container , I open that and find the press and 2 pcv boxes with one your tooling and the other with a set of allen wrenches , and toolds to tighten hardware , Even the hardare was wrapped with extra hardware .
So I undo everything and look at build quality I see the hollow point pim and it has 2 allen screws to lock it in place and a allen to adjust your depth , As alot of you guys know I am a mechanic and I always take things apart even when I get a new gun to see how its made ect ,
So the detail of fitment of threads is very tight , the fitment of the pins to the diew are precise , the press is much smaller then my corbin it is a compact unit but it is made very riggid , and is made very well , the way you adjust the sizes with this press is it has a coller which is split like a some dies are made where their is a adjustment to lock the threads when you tighten screw . So you turn dial to adjust your size and lower pin into die and then toghten coller this puts everything into alignment , and then when it is centered the weight of handle wthe pin will fall threw die perfectly ,
I had seen a forum where people wanted a review so I am explaining everything on this set up ,like did anyone get a gmi ? Well I did , I just ordered a >30 caliber die with a boat tail , I cant wait for this I am going to make some 68 grainers or so for the Yotes here they getting bad
OK so here is a few pics of some I have just made learning to use this machine , I plan on trying to shoot some groups on a few of my guns I will update this post as I do with accuarcy results and when I get the .30 caliber I will also show you results and I am sorry these pictures didnt come out well , More pics to come ,
I also would like to add 1 thing GMI emailed me to see how things going , then they give you pointers and advice and if You messege then they answer with in like under 1 hour during hours , and they are the most prefessional people you casn see they care about their name and products they are unlike what most of us are used to as far as manufactures , they are craftsman who are thriving for perfection , LOU

I dont think made a bad choice in buying your equipment from gmi
The quality speaks for itself and hopefully you can get some stunning results.
You are correcting saying as a company they bend over backwards to accommodate your requirements if possible.
Most companies dont even have a human to reply to you anymore

HI aroundlocks , dont be jelious get one for your self , they are the best , I just got a new die a few days ago for the ,357 caliber , what a great tooling just look at these slugs , I swear every new die I get is better then the one before , I thought all were perfect , one thing to note is I swaged some 357 slugs to try in the new fx king but I only got to shoot a few slugs the gun it self sprung a leak at the valve pin so I got one coming soon and then I can post some results in mean time look at these slugs and the tooling , look closely at tooling , amazing how polished and flawless it is , To my amazement I thought the ,357 would be hard to swag in the press , however I dont know how these guys designed this but it is not any harder then swaging ,22 caliber for me , it must be the way they designed it , I know when I had a corbin press a decade ago it was much harder to go up in calibers meaning the pressure required , this press is the best I have seen and I have tried many different types , LOU

@steve123 Nice catch. Just an idea, but it could be due to slightly undersized cores. On my Corbin if the core weight is lighter than or almost the same as the desired finished slug weight, they look flawed.

Thanks mate, trying to be honest. So far we have covered the grounds on die sets which fit almost all presses. Presslug version is ready, tried tested and is available, SOC is in stock, Hybrid - Slugmaster is also ready.

@jwrabbit123 I can see what @steve123 commented on. Some of the slugs have imperfections and/or are misshapen. I circled some of them in red. Compare them with the ones with a green circle around the hollow point. Any idea what’s causing this?

Hi I took a magnifier and yes I saw a very tiny inperfection , , so what it was , which I never saw as looked perfect was , not the tooling as it is flawless , i ran a qtip inside of die , a very i mean very tiny chard was their , so I saw like 12 pellets out of 150 I made and simply rean the ones you saw again in press and flawless
