My new Diana Bandit .177 - 50 shot Chrono with Crosman .177 HP

Gun arrived yesterday. Immediately put my red dot on and did a quick zero. Magazine and bolt work flawlessly. Bolt in is a great place for fast follow up shots. Very happy with the purchase. As plenty of people have said, the handle is huge. I wear L or XL gloves so it fits me good enough. I will likely shave down the lower area where my pinky and adjacent fingers are.

My extra mags and regulator just showed up from PA. The barrel bands are on preorder and I definitely need one mainly because I'm not gentle with my guns.

FPE ranged from a max of 6.87 down to 3.84 before at the 50th shot.

That shot string looks to be perfectly normal for that pistol. Looks like you're into accuracy so good thing you bought a regulator for it. The barrel and magazines may be the limiting factor though.

I'm just a basement plinker. Range is about 10-11 yards. That said, I do like to hit what I'm aiming at and I prefer shooting free hand while standing.

Mine is in .22 but about the same setup. a great 20 yard pester. I get 3 mags to the fill at about 1" groups. That's from a rest, but I can do much better off hand LOL.

I stumbled upon off-hand shooting completely by accident. I really enjoy acquiring a target and unloading on it quickly and I find that I hit stuff more often when I move the crosshairs or red dot across the target versus trying to aim steady on it.

My pistol shot similarly when I got it. I installed the reg in about 5 min and it flattened my shot curve completely. I lowered the pressure on the reg to shoot two full mags for 8 g pellets before it falls off the reg. I get about 8 ftlbs per shot.

I like the price of the cphp but the pistol likes the jsb 8g the best...... hole in hole at 10m

Added the regulator. Had to adjust it several times to get it right. The chart included is way off for my pellets so I had to set it a lot higher than expected.

The reg is definitely doing its job. The reg takes up volume in the tank which leads to less shots but I've read that I can pump in more pressure now that I have a regulator and that will get the shot count back up.

If you read that you can overfill your gun now that you have a reg, what you were reading is how to build a bomb. My Rebel 800, which is a Bandit with a reg, gets 55 shots at over 600fps without overfilling. Get to tuning and do not overfill a cheap Chinagun.

I only have 4 mags and my compressor fills up the gun quicker than I can reload those mags so 36 shots is really all I need. I may still look into tuning though just so I know what's out there.

You made me dig out my notes. It gets 53 shots. JSB 7.3’s around 660fps and Crosman 7.9’s at 630fps. I didn’t write down my reg setting but I did write refill when the gauge hits yellow. I can’t remember what I opened my ports up to without tearing the gun apart. I think I also shimmed the valve spring to get the valve to close faster and tighten my ES. I also built a LW barrel for it. It’s about 1/2” longer. I turned it into a mini rifle for my mom to shoot when we all get together. It does quite well at 50yrds.
