So she is here and I am happy to report better looking and shooting than I had ever hoped. I will be showing Michael McKeown's excelling packaging and some partly cloudy outdoor pics. Plan to get some better photos when the sun come back out. She feels incredibly balanced and seems to weigh less than the scale says. Michael's designs use a "minimally dropped" stock for a better bore axis alignment allowing a more straight recoil impulse. The numbers for the new Vortek tuned .22 caliber Hw80 action;
weight w/ optic = 10 lbs 6 oz
barrel length after choke removal = 17" approx w/o brake
ten shot string with 12.34 grain Cuda greens
1 - 847
2 - 846
3 - 848
4 - 847
5 - 851
6 - 848
7 - 846
8 - 849
9 - 848
10 - 849
average = 847 for 19.67 FPE
extreme spread = 5
standard deviation = 1
50F 1800 ASL
He only ended cutting off about two inches of barrel to remove the choke and re-crown her. She is shooting amazing so far and very accurate with my quicky sight-in and 30 yard shooting before dark. Seems just as accurate as my 11 fpe tuned Hw77 I use for HFT. I will be posting better pics, groups from the range day and some videos when I can. Enjoy these first few airgun pic pics from today...the first two pics and the crown shot are Michael's
