My New Crown

Thanks Doc, I'm think I'm going to really like it. Dang wind has been pretty persistent but it is that time of the year. I sure like the feel of the stock and the weight difference from the Crown. Not knocking the RAW's quality though.

2D1C, yeah it does seem to fill a little slower but that's a good thing.

I'm in no hurry or worry to fix the dings (slight dents in the wood but broken finished edges). It seems to be finished with a Polyurethane of some type and for sure not a rubbed on oil finish. I am wondering though that being a gray laminate, is it died or was the piece of laminate already grey/black? What color is it going to be if I sanded down those dinged edges and would it require a touch up with a grey stain. I'm hold off until I know what I might run into.

The piece of laminate is a block that's already colored then cut into the stock shape if that's what you're asking, I saw a picture of the blocks at some point but having a hard time finding it now. I had good luck matching the finish with a light coat of Tru-oil on this exact stock. If you sand too deep you'll hit the next color or if the dent goes through a couple layers the steaming idea might work. But regardless seeing what you did with that walnut no reason you couldn't repair the dents then refinish the cheek riser. (If it bugged you)
