1st there was the car...
I'm sure some of you know how difficult buying a new car can be. I got this one for a great price and then had work done to freshen it up mechanically even though it wasn't necessarily required. Call it "preventative maintenance" if you will. Now, it's a year round(awd), reliable commuter car (27mpg) which was bought to be a safe ride for the new 7lb 0oz air gunner that was brought into this world on the 27th. Introducing Ms. Rowan Elise...
She's 8 days old today so, there's not much to talk about other than poop, pee, vomit, sore mommy, sleepless nights, and the way she seems to have farted on everyone who has held her! lol!
The tubing is because she's on Oxygen. All babies born at this altitude (9500ft) end up on oxygen for at least the first few weeks.
Then, a week later, my brown Santa showed up!
Double boxed, of course...
Now, bear with me, the lighting is terrible for taking pictures of my brand new tuned and regulated FX 400 with grade 2 walnut stock.
I wanted to get my Athlon scope (also brand new!) mounted up to it and get it sighted in. So, I grabbed whatever mounts I had, which ended up being a hassle because I had to steal them off another rifle. (Apparently, I overlooked that part of the build!) But, here's a pic of that setup outside, which highlights the wood stock better.
But wait... there's more!
The same day, I also received a package in the mail which contained my new Eaglevisioncam.com Infinity adjustable scope mount FAE-S50! What perfect timing!
I got the accessory level with it and wanted to give it a test. Never trust a level to be level until you've tested its level against others levels! So, I compared it against 2 other levels.
1st pic = slight tilt. 2nd pic = level.
One possible downside might be when I go to fit it inside a case. That level might stick out too far and could be susceptible to quite a bit of strain. But, other than that, It's a nice use of space and is very easy to see when you're behind the scope.
I also wanted to see what the max tilt looked like,
The saw is unplugged and the blade is all the way down.
By this time it was too dark outside to shoot. And now... I'm stuck at work for about 36 more hours. So, all my new arrivals sit at home waiting for me to return and give them my attention. Also, no shot groups to show you guys. But, they were looking very good at 50yds shooting in the wind.
Happy Shooting!
Tom
