I have a 30 caliber Huggett that cost me nearly $300. One of my 22 caliber guns clipped it 3 times. Do you think it is still good? There are three strike marks on the very end cap where the pellet comes out. Other than that I guess it looks fine.

Enlarge the end cap with a reamer a few thousands’ larger.
Do not use a dril bit!!
“Paint” the edge of the opening with a black magic marker.
Shoot about 10 more shots. Inspect with a flashlight for pellet clipping which will appear gray streaks.
No gray streaks? Problem solved.

if a .22 gun clipped a .30 silencer there is a big problem either with barrel's thread or the silencer, check that first

a small dremel will knock down any of the edges, then apply black permanent marker and retest. Should be fine.

If you have a 22 clipping a 30 cal suppressor there is a definite alignment problem. I wouldn't shoot it any more until that is sorted out. I have repaired this problem in the past on one of my guns and a couple for friends. In my case we chucked the barrel up in the lathe and check the mating surface with a dial indicator and trued it. As far as your Huggett goes as long as there is no physical damage of the internals it should be fine. I have found that the misalignment problem comes not from the barrel being threaded crooked, but from where the suppressor face matches to the shroud. Good luck. sylvan

Hey, The barrel on the gun that clipped the Huggete was screwed up. So I won't use it on that gun again. Thanks for the advice. It sounds like it may be OK...hopefully it only hit the endcap. I'll try it and see.
