I went outside to cut the backyard and saw my chrony set up on the tripod. I realised it had been outside for a couple of days and of course it rained cats and dogs last night. 
My heart sank when I saw it

I hate when I do stuff like that! Open the case up and put it in front of a fan for a while. That should dry it out. Disconnect the battery of course. It probably will be fine if you dry it out right away. Good luck! Hey at least you didn't shoot it.

Damn that sucks, reminds me of a time when I was a like 8 and left my crosman 760 on the bumper of the pickup and realized it halfway down the 30 mile trip home. I was so sad because I knew it would have either got ran over or picked up by then but I got super lucky and it was actually still on the bumper, I couldn't believe it so I guess I try a little harder to keep my stuff safe now. nothing worse than losing or breaking things.

Take your cronograph apart if you can, put it in a plastic bag with, cover it with white rice, let it sit for a couple of days and hope for the best. This method worked for a cell phone I used to have.

Hi Diesel - I'm sorry to here about your crono. I hear the rice thing doesn't work but I have turned the oven on and just when the temp gauge starts to move - I think its about 150 degs - I turn it off put in the electronics and leave it in over night or longer.
If I am shooting over the crono and I think I might blast it, I have a 3/8 piece of Lexan I put in front of it at an angle to deflect the pellet.
Let us know if you resurrect the crono.
