My Accu-Shot monopod has very much the same type elevation setup, with one addition you can make it quite a bit sturdier, use another threaded piece like a rod coupler or knurled collar on your threaded shaft (All thread) as a lock to lock the height, it also removes a lot of lateral "wiggle" having the locking collar on the shaft... On your design, you'd run the collar up against your threaded insert in the butt stock...

@Ken, thanks for the tip. I will look for a collar to add to my design, hopefully it would blow my budget of $2! lol.

@JPS, hopefully a few of your will find the video helpful and save some money and DIY. If one is brave enough to drill the original stock butt and just add the rod/nut and rubber bouncy ball. (I was too reluctant to mess it up so I use a piece of wood instead. Luckily it worked on my first trial).

I get 1/16" of fine adjustment as I rotate the screw in and out, so it works well for me.
