Hello AirgunNation Peoples,
sick (sĭk)
An adjective similar to cool referring to something that is completely great.
OMG! This FX DreamPup is absolutely “sick” with this .22 caliber 600mm Smooth Twist X “A” pellet liner and barrel sleeve setup!! Over the factory .22 caliber 500mm Smooth Twist X barrel.
FX DreamPup with .22 caliber 600mm STX
FX DreamPup with (factory/OEM) .22 caliber 500mm STX
Efficiency, power, and accuracy all have gone up a notch.
Power, 10 to 15 more fps with the same power settings of 140bar (AMP reg.) and hammer spring maxed. 960 to 970fps with hammer maxed using JSB 18.13’s.
Efficiency gains stemming from the no-need to have the transfer port at .25/.30 (now @ .117/.22) and the hammer spring adjuster at “5” not “MAX”! Benefit 5 to 10 more shots per fill.
Full 16 Shot Magazine (shot string)
Accuracy. WOW! Blown away! Pellets JSB 18.13 are very stable at 940 to 950! I believe it is from a combination of the less air requirements for the 4” longer barrel (600mm or 23.62”) to reach the same velocities of the shorter barrel (500mm or 19.68”). Which constitutes less turbulent air behind the projectile. I also concluded that the longer shroud is helping in the accuracy department because the shots are a lot quieter. Little may know that there is a tiny air stripper inside the muzzle end of the shroud of an FX Streamline or Dreamline. It is actually what is on the other side of the half-inch UNF 20 (it dubs as a air stripper). That all being said, the longer shroud on the 600mm barrel has more air space to absorb the stripped air from each shot. Combined with the FX DonnyFL, literally all that’s heard is the hammer hitting!
Conclusion this 600mm upgrade definitely out performs the 500mm factory setup. Besides for a 4” loss in compactness there’s no perceivable downside. I kind of dig the sniper rifle look as well, so the 600mm barrel stays!
