Few have asked me to post a pick of this contraption of an air compressor.....I will say, it works. Heat management is the key to these little pumps - to keep heat down on the motor, it has a 2.5 gallon water reserve (antifreeze since I live up north), water is routed through a 25ft copper coil, ice/water bath then on to the compressor head - on the way out, it goes through a fan/transmission oil cooler then back to the holding tank. On the air it up end, air runs through a cooling coil (stolen from an Air Venturi machine) - that's wrapped with a water coil wrap & that line is ran is routed back through its own fan/cooler before heading back to a separate 1.5 gallon tank - on this end, it helps separate as much air moisture before the air passes through an oil/water separator and then, off to a two-stage air filter system - from there, it fills the 100cuft tank I use. Its a mess but it works.
Lots of folk's frown on the cheap Chinese Yong Heng compressors but if you take care of them, use good oil an keep it changed often. with a little heat management, it works just fine. I've ran this set up for two years now. I don't care if it takes 30 mins or an hour to fill the tank - I focus on managing the heat and getting good clean air out the other end.
