I’m thinking about a .30 or .35 cal. I like the Aea challengers but looking for some opinions n experiences.
I’m a big fan of the wood stock too. What kinda range n shot count are you getting from it?I have an AEA Challenger Standard .30 cal and have had no issues with it in the year I have owned it. Built like a tank and a bit heavy for long woods walks, but lots of power and accuracy is good. In my opion, the value for the money spent is there...
Thanks for the input. Happy shootingI have mine dialed down just a bit for better shot count. With Apolo 49 gn pellets I get 8 shots between 90 and 95 ft lbs. The NSA .303 slugs shoot well also.
The power is adjustable, so you can dial it up for bigger game or dial it down for shot count.
Range is a subjective estimate based on many factors. In Georgia, any game animal can be legally hunted with a .30 cal air rifle, so squirrel to blacl bear. Effective range would be very different for those extremes. My rifle has proven accurate enough to take a squirrel at 60 yards, standing propped against a tree. Your mileage will vary of course.
