My final conclusions about PCP's.

Well, after having bought more PCP's that I should had along years, these are my personal conclusions in regard of the rifles I own and have owned:

1.- Buying cheap rifles do not prevent you to ending spending more money.
2.- There are ONLY three air rifle makers that IMO are ABSOLUTELY reliable (quality and accuracy at very long range):

a) Daystate;
b) Airgun Technology; and
c) Western Airguns with the sidewinder.

3.- Of the three above mentioned, the only one that indistinctly will shoot perfectly pellets and slugs are the rifles made by Airgun Technology (Dayatate and sidewinders shoot perfectly pellets).

I hope at least one member of this forum take into consideration my conclusions in order to get to spend less money than the one I had to be able to get to these conclusions.

If no one takes into consideration my conclusions, then at least they could have in mind that were warned.

Your intent and experience is appreciated, as I’ve only have experience with BRK Brococks, Compatto, Bantam Sniper HR and Atomic XR. So I can’t speak about the other brands. Because I fell hard, through performance, on the BRKs. I’m positive others will challenge your picks, it’s going to be good.

That is quite the ABSOLUTE statement there,.....betcha you'll have many refuting it.

I may only talk about the rifles I own.

I have never bought Kalibrgun, RAW, Evol, Edgun, Taipan, nor FX Meccano shooting line, just FX classic line and I keep them out of my list of final recommendations.

Dear Luis,

I own a Bantam in 4.5 and a Bantam Sniper in .25...... I keep them out of my list on porpouse.

Ahhhhh so you saying in you limited experiance then since many guns you didn't try nor own.

The Original post makes it sound like a definite but in reality it only applys to your stable,...now that makes more sense.

Yes, that was understood… because it’s your list. 🤓 But understand that the “very long range” thing is of interest to a small minority. And field practical to an even smaller group. At close range? Sub 100 yards, 50 yards and under? I believe there would be many more that make the cut.

I can vouch for the tiapan reliability. Might actually battle for #1 spot if you owned 1. I only shoot pellets out of mine though. I also really like the agt brand and own 2 uragan 2s, and a vulcan 3. Edgun has been the only gun I ever had to replace an o ring on and it was simple just a Sharp edge the oring on pellet prob area would catch on. Other than that I've had pretty darn good luck with all of the 1s I've mentioned. Thanks for your post.

Obviously .. Never had a Theoben / Raw or TAIPAN or Air Arms or AAA or Thomas or Walther Etc Etc etc
Just one opinion based on very limited experiences ... You have been warned 🥴

All in fun ... What a great hobby !!!
I had and still have Air Arms S500 and S510..... Very good rifles but very few shots per fill and low power.... Out of my final list !

Opinions are usually based on experience. (Although I have seen people denigrate brands that they've never owned.)
My experience:
I had many problems with the two Daystates I owned (Pulsar & Renegade) and Daystate support was non-existent. Both of my Brococks have had minor issues that I was able to repair myself, but overall they've been pretty good.
The best for me is FX. I have owed 4 FX guns (still have 2) and all of them have been totally trouble free and super accurate. Again, this is just what I have experienced with those 3 brands.

I do have a bad opinion in regard of FX meccano shooting line notwithstanding I have never own one.

The reason is the following:

- If you already pay a lot of money to buy a rifle, I really hate the idea of having to spend a lot of money in extra gadgets in order that you fullfil your accuracy and power expectations. I deeply disagree with the concept. It is not just consumissm, in my opinion it is dishonest.

But even in the process of adding gadgets I have seen posts in this forum of members suffering of damage of their rifles.

- It is a rabbit hole within the bigger rabbit hole.

Your list is a little flawed. Agree on Daystate. Rapid/Raw and Tiapan has to be on list .

You don't have to spend anything extra for an accurate gun, I currently own a Crown and an M3 Impact. I haven't bought a single gadget for either and they both are lights out accurate; well beyond my capabilities as a shooter.
