My final conclusions about PCP's.

Troy Hammer,...by the way what happen to him ?
Great guy with great knoledge, hopefully he's just busy selling guns.

Anyway Troy used to always place pretty high in big time competitions with his Krals, so there's something to be said about that too.
Gurus don’t count. I think Emu is just talking off the shelf guns. And yes, Troy has been in the wind. I sent him an email a while back and no reply. I have his phone number but hate to bother somebody who won’t answer an email. Must be real busy. Hopefully.

Fair enough, just pointing out that to say only these 3 brands are accurate and reliable is a far stretch.

I may only talk about the rifles I own.

I have never bought Kalibrgun, RAW, Evol, Edgun, Taipan, nor FX Meccano shooting line, just FX classic line and I keep them out of my list of final recommendations.

Probably best to list exactly which rifles you've owned, so people know what you've been comparing. Saying there's only three that meet your standards and then listing far more guns you've never tried, it isn't exactly helpful.

I dissagree with the OP for a couple reasons.

Firstly: I LOVE TO TINKER. To me it's more than half the fun of airgunning. For those that have firearms, you know what I mean when I say that airguns are waaay more tinkerable than firearms, although the AR platform comes dang close. And firearms are where I came from before this airgunning thing, as did I think most of you guys too. So you know what I mean here. Now, I'm not gonna buy some $1500 to $3000 platform just to tinker. Makes about as much sense as buying a Maserati and tearing it down to .....whatever.

Secondly: I like to build my own stuff (kinda goes hand in hand with the tinker thing). I have many airguns that I built from the ground up using some "on the market" parts and some parts that I made. Why? Just wanted to see if I could hit a certain performance level. In most cases, I got what I was after.
I do agree that it is cheaper to buy what you want to begin with, but by building it myself, doing the research, sourcing the parts or making my own, I KNOW the machine inside and out.

I would challenge anyone to fix a Daystate or any of the Maserati guns as fast as I can fix my stuff, on the bench or in the field. My stuff may not be as reliable, but it is infinately easier to work on and ALL guns will break eventually. Do I keep a lot of spares in stock? Yup. Thats part of it. And, in the end I realize that I've spent about as much on one of my customs as I would have on a Maserati gun...well, maybe not quite as much.

FWIW

I can think of several examples of quality brands and models not on that list, and thus not given consideration . . . . that said, I'm jealous of your list!! ;) :)

I stopped my rabbit hole 🕳 when I purchased my uragans with the only purpose to shoot slugs.. 177 - 22 - 30 has been flawless in the acurracy department.. the .25 I ended selling.. I could not manage to find something that it liked for long shots.. last week I found another for sale for the early examples.. is supposed to arrive this week.. hope that one works out.. sidewinder twist rates are more intended for pellets.. in fact I got one of those tj 1-22 to have it machined for my uragan .. the best will always depend on you needs .. for my friend needs he is well enough with his p15 .. for mine those uragans do exactly what I want.. and if I want a bit more then I take out the bullet shooters, Airforce guns..and most people really hate those..😂

🤷‍♂️🤓😅

Quality and accuracy? Top Tier - FX Crown, Daystate Air Wolf and Huntsman Regal, Air Arms S510 Carbine, American Air Arms Paradigm, BSA R10. 2nd Tier - Benjamin Akela, AirMaks Arms Caiman X and BSA Scorpion.

I have been thrilled with all of these rifles. The FX Crown, Daystate Air Wolf and Huntsman Regal and American Air Arms Paradigm have a distinctive "feel" about them, but the others are quality guns, and all are accurate pesting and target rifles. They fill every shooting niche that is important to me. They cover all of the major calibers I use: .177, .20, .22, .25 and .30

Well, after having bought more PCP's that I should had along years, these are my personal conclusions in regard of the rifles I own and have owned:

1.- Buying cheap rifles do not prevent you to ending spending more money.
2.- There are ONLY three air rifle makers that IMO are ABSOLUTELY reliable (quality and accuracy at very long range):

a) Daystate;
b) Airgun Technology; and
c) Western Airguns with the sidewinder.

3.- Of the three above mentioned, the only one that indistinctly will shoot perfectly pellets and slugs are the rifles made by Airgun Technology (Dayatate and sidewinders shoot perfectly pellets).

I hope at least one member of this forum take into consideration my conclusions in order to get to spend less money than the one I had to be able to get to these conclusions.

If no one takes into consideration my conclusions, then at least they could have in mind that were warned.
After squirming in my chair, I take into account your disclaimer: "these are my personal conclusions..." Thank you for your opinion. :)
