My custom P15 .22

This little bullpup has killed most of my want for other pcp's. It's getting about 80 shots at 915 fps with 16grn JSB's. It's so short, light, and compact it's a pleaser to carry in the field and shoot of hand. My longest kill shot last summer was 177 yards with many over 100 yards. Now that it has a LW barrel that has cut the group size in half, this spring should be amazing.

Swish,

Awesome! I love to see other people enjoying their P15's.
It's great to read how dialed in you've gotten yours, and how accurate it is!
I have one also - fairly new to me - and I can't get enough out of it.. They're just so much fun!
Mine is trapped indoors limited to 10M until' the end of winter, but it is still a complete blast..
So far, it isn't pellet picky either.. Crosman 14 grain and H&N Baracuda 21 grain both fired great.

I can't even imagine how nice these pups must be: cleaned, leaded in, w/ performance bbls, etc.

They really are a shooter's and tinkerer's dream!

🙂👍

Thanks Sam,

The one thing I noticed with my factory barrel was the more I shot it the better it got. After a cleaning it would take a while to shoot decent again. It seems like I've read the same with others. I just kept shooting it and it kept getting better. Finally had to give in to the LW barrel because I enjoy the gun so much. Now it's a laser.

Matt at Jefferson State Air Rifles machined the barrel. I would highly recommend him for the job. He can get standard or polygonal. Mine is the standard and choked. Other than the barrel all I did was go through and polish/tune all the internals. They come full of cheap grease and orings so it's usually a good idea to go through them anyway. They are actually quite simple once you tear into them.

Here's a 5 shot group at 50 yards with the new barrel.

Swish,

What you noticed is a very common and normal thing..
Factory/OEM/Uncleaned barrels usually shoot the worst: 1 because they're grimy inside, and 2 because they're 'new'.

Cleaning them will obviously help - It clears out any imperfections: metal dust / filings, oil / residue, etc.
After that, shots tend to become more significantly more accurate.. But wait . . . There's more! 😜

I mentioned 'new' up above..
Just like with a lot of things, new doesn't mean that things will function to the best of their abilities..
Sometimes, they need to be 'broken in'.. Barrels are one of these things - in almost every case..

I / we call that 'leading in' a barrel [Hopefully this is new info to you]

The more pellets that pass through the barrel, the more lead particles are deposited, and eventually,
that process makes for a Much more accurate and consistent result!

I do this with every single rifle / pistol I own, and I notice significant improvements time and time again.

Your LW barrel has got to be insane, and will just get better! "Now it's a laser" . . . I totally believe it!
Now keep shooting and leading it in and you'll be focusing that laser down to pin-point-accuracy!

👍👍

Oh just great..

Now I'll be a minimum of $277.00 + $hipping poorer in the future.. 🤣
Thanks for the heads up as far as prices go!

If I remember correctly, there was mention of still having to 'adapt' the bbls due to their dia?
P15 bbls being a bit larger, so the LW bbls would have to be 'sleeved' w/ [copper] tubing..

For those w/o access to calipers to measure wall thickness, diameters, etc..
It'd be nice to put together a simple cheat-sheet for a "barrel kit"

*Kit* meaning everything needed to do the swap.

I know it isn't rocket science, but, some people have a hard time if they're not mechanically inclined.

👍👍
