My Big Bore 50 Range 125 Yards..Industrial free bullet trap!!!!

This is my version of a safe and affordable shooting range for my big bore 50 texan. My shooting bench is concrete blocks with a piece of heavy diamond plate steel from a old machine. The bullet trap is a old industrial loader bucket..... The angle of the bucket is ideal...Keeps all slugs in trap...Safety... I covered the front with old mining belt. Easy to staple to....weather proof...last forever.... Best of all free.. I recycle all my lead 100% I'm not leaving 300 Pounds of lead on my land..With 2 drinking wells on. The groups are my NOE mold 460 grain sized to .510 powder coated and lived with Silicon spray. 125 yards 10 mph wind. Tethered aqua environment regulator. Hand lapped my barrel from 120 grit up to 400 grit to get all the rough spots out. Poured about ten pure lead laps about 3 hours time. Pictures across the field back to bench!!!!

@Reedmosser I’m really happy to have come across this thread. Interesting shooting table top. Have you considered covering it with some sort of rubber matting? Maybe the stuff used in horse trailers, gym floors, or a similar type of sheet rubber? Earlier in the year I began reading about lead abatement for ranges and it’s tedious, but I encountered some interesting info. I don’t like not shooting into to traps, but will do it on occasion depending upon the situation and need. I have similar concerns because of the type of rain typical in the region results in plenty of runoff flowing into water sources for animals that are then slaughtered for or sold for food. Thank you for this idea. I really like how you re-purposed that bucket. Do your projectiles largely remain intact or do they tend to fragment and create a lot of dust? What is that draped over the bucket?
