Results My Best Card Ever

Braggin' on the Panda Red Panda, not myself! This is the best card I've ever shot. Backyard range, 50 yards, VERY light breeze, .30 cal. Red Panda, AEA 45 grain pellets. This gun just does not seem to have any fliers. Shot four sighters. I believe I pulled 15, 18 and a smidge on 19 which still scored 10, otherwise 10's all the way and 12 X's. In the past the best I could seem to do was high 30's to mid 40's with maybe 5-8 X's. No regrets buying the RP!

I shot this yesterday. 100yards 4to5mph winds. Not my best, but not bad.

Mike, 30’s are difficult for us to score in 50 matches due to the nasty holes they make. When we have a questionable hole we will push the paper upward from the back side then carefully insert the plug from the font. We have had very good success doing it that way. Regardless, great card. Now go get that 250!

I do have a Red Panda. 2024 spec. Been tuning on it each time I shoot. It shoot good, but it has misses. Guns with smallest misses is more accurate. My fx guns seem to out do the panda, but for 5 shots the panda is tuff when it's tuned correctly. I battle my guns against each other at 100 yards when I shoot. The nec target is little smaller than fx official target I think,or at least same size. The yellow center is difficult to see in the sun light at 100 yards.

Very nice card Mike! Feels great when you practice shooting for score, and achieve your highest on the various competition scoring cards.

Your 50.1g pellet holes all look pretty round/symmetrical except for three or four which teared a bit. Tim’s idea / method is a good takeaway for me also when I shoot Mike’s ( CC) old Boss .30. I get tears all the time with either the 44g or 50.1g pellets. I like the idea of pushing the paper or card stock from behind to try and get a more accurate hole to plug for score.

I'm shooting 50.5 grain pellets 956fps out of a 500mm panthera with an Ernest Rowe liner. I'm practicing for P.a c. .
Really good shooting at a 100 yards. Wish you all the luck at PAC.

When Mike ( CC ) ran the virtual EBR Challenge during COVID, there was a lot of participation and enthusiasm. He suggested that the shooters shoot one bull at a time and rotate to the next bull. This, approach vs. shooting 5 shot scoring groups for each bull.

Much harder but it does simulate the actual competition environment of having to adjust your wind holds and setup for shooting adjacent bulls.

I’ve tried both ways many times and invariably my scores were lower using his idea,
than shooting 5-shot groups for each bull.

Give it a try as your gun is dialed in.

I have never shot 100 yard bench on an actual card with an air rifle. So I am no help but I do practice at 100 yards for 22LR F Class. It's kinda like you shot your bulls eyes. In our first relay we are allowed unlimited sighters but once we start shooting for score you can no longer do sighters and we shoot five shots per bull's-eye and we have four targets for 20 scored shots 25 minute time limit with sighters. The other two relays you get two sighters and then you have to start shooting for score in 22 minutes. You learn to read flags pretty good. I would like to try it with a good 22 Cal slug air rifle to see how they do with the 22 LR. Now this is shot prone depending on class either off a bipod and rear bag or a front rest and rear bag. now our 10 ring is bigger it is just slightly under an inch but still pretty tough. Maybe someday I'll get a good slug gun and try it but good shooting

I shot slugs for almost a year before I realized 100yard br had to be shot with pellets. I'd have to say the fx panthera is about as best slug gun as you can get. Even slugs can be over powered to the point they lose accuracy. At 100 yards,I've found 30 caliber pellets as accurate as any slug I ever shot. Even the altaros has a flier or two out of 25to 30 shots. I have alot of slugs left I didn't shoot. Over 50 pounds. Now I shoot pellets. If it's not at a hundred yards, then it doesn't seem like a challenge either. At 75 yards, hitting the centers is easily done, the last 25 yards from 75to 100 is where all the conditions really have there affect on pellets.

Wish I had a more convenient 100 yard range!
