My attempt at making a laminate stock

I have been wanting to try making a laminate stock for a while now, and finally finished one earlier this year.
I ended up going with natural colors (no stain) just clear coat, and used black walnut and Osage for the contrasting wood.

I ended up really enjoying this project and I think I am going to try to make more stocks in the future.

I've got a stack of 150 year old white oak in my shop that was found in a barn, left over from the original lumber milled on site when they built it, kicked around the idea of making a quarter sawn stock, but it would probably be on the heavy side.

Depending on the gun you have it might actually be a good thing! The Streamline I have is a fairly light weight gun and the little extra heft from the new stock I think is actually a good thing.
Also it would be a cool story talking about where the stock came from. If do end up doing that you should put the pictures on here so I can see them!
