AEA My AEA Bigbore Challenger Bullpup Chassis

how are you liking this Bullpup design? I purchased the Benjamin Bulldog in .457, the breach o-ring blew and the slugs in the magazine nearly took my face off
I'm kind of torn with them but i think its necessary since the gun is so huge. These things are so heavy, if it was a normal non-pullpup, i think it would be too nose heavy and would be annoying. Also, these guns have a 30" barrel so the non-bullpup gun must have really constricted movement. The gun was clearly designed not to be a bullpup; with the charging lever in the back like this, it doesnt lend itself to easy cocking. The trigger isn't great either. I know i can clean it up, but I haven't yet.
I think i prefer the standard layout, especially with the ear problem i have. Bullpup designs transfer all of the noise and vibrations from the hammer and pneumatics right to my head which is not so great. I have a .25 cal challenger standard that i also made a stock for. I really like that gun. So comfortable and just promotes good shooting.

Thanks for response. I have the same issue with lever on the bulldog. It's the most difficult gun to reload in that configuration. I did purchase the Zeus in 32" and it was excessively heavy, so I ended up putting on their smallest air tank, added regulator and swapped the barrel for a 19" smooth bore + choke. Still heavy but much lighter now and I use it as 12 gauge shotgun.

Even when bench-shooting it ergonomics is not great. Standard design would be better. In the woods it's too big of a gun, my scoped setup was 19 lbs.

Noise is there, ear plugs are required.

I was finally able to measure the air tube which was 1.47 inches.
Yeah, as i thought. A much smaller tube. only 37mm or so. This means that the receiver is totally different. The side lever guns are just a different design.
I did make a really awesome chassis for the standard non-pullpup gun that might fit. I wonder if the bullpup can be converted to a non-bullpup.

Yes it can. I bet with just a little work that chassis could be adapted to a bullpup too.
