A permission of mine is being plagued by pigeons consuming and pooping in his feed. If you can get within 50 yds one shot and they scatter. They go to tall trees and wait until you leave. Instead of at 50, I zeroed the Profit for !00. With standard JSB Hades and my laser range finder I went back out and at 100 yds got lots of feathers and after I figured the wind out dropped 3 to the ground. With the RTI and the large carbon fiber bottle I get lots of shots. Silly birds don't spook as much when I am hiding in the milk parlor 100 yds away.

Yes, they learn quickly. If you can get a spot at 100yds or greater, you'll get more shots on them.
I don't even bother setting up closer than 100yds anymore, when I have that option anyway.

@jim81 that is good to hear on the Prophet and nice shooting at that distance. I am getting a Prophet Performance Compact in 22 cal, in Augustish. Also, I will get both the CZ barrel and LW barrel to compare them, so it will be interesting to see how they stack up against each at 75-100 yards.

Haven’t been shooting as much lately, but when I get to my friends dairy farm, my prophet .22 lr shoots an extremely flat trajectory . Makes my shots so easy. My usual rifle is still my edgun leyla .25, but damn, the holdovers for the leyla are kinda ridiculous compared to the prophet.
