Mtc & Optisan the same?

Would anyone know if the Mtc line of scopes are the spin off of the Optisan's scopes? Looks to be the same scopes IMO from the various similar features and looks

There was a Co-Op between them a couple years ago IIRC started with Brits making field target scopes. The VIPER series MTC/Optisans were one such scope.

Recent years they have gone there own way with each having there own line up. Now who ACTUALLY manufactures them is another story ?

Up until @ 2014 2015 the MTC/OPTISAN Vipers you could ONLY get in the UK being there was ( As I was told back then ) a marketing agreement that the folks behind the design and use of the SCB reticle were proprietary and no one outside the UK had access. When that agreement expired we started to hear about and able to purchase the VIPERS here stateside. TRENIER Outdoors helped me source one of the first 4-16x50 Vipers to hit these shores. Still using it too !



When the MTC / OPTISAN merger split after a couple years IIRC the Optisan line changed up what once was the VIPER coming out with EVX line .... of which once again had a couple of the very first 4-16x44's in both the "I" version SFP and the "F1" being the FFP version.

Sadly IMO neither of EVX's were the scope that the VIPER was & a DAMN SHAME they discontinued making them. Far and away IMO the best SFP Hunter Class FT scope made that ranged very well, decent glass and that killer SCB-2 reticle.

so who actually made the mtc optisan 10x44 scope back in 2007? optisan or mtc? or some company in china?
