Mounting Arca rail to Vet 2

I'd like to add an Arca-Swiss rail (https://www.salmonriversolutions.com/product/srs-tactical-4-arca/) to my Vet 2 standard stock. There's plenty of room on the foregrip, but I'm leery of a) doing it right, i.e. secure & removable, and b) having it look good. There are no existing holes or bolts in the stock other than the action bolt near the trigger guard. Also, the screw holes would be going in parallel to the laminate layers, so I definitely don't want to cause any splitting.

As I would like the rail to be removable, I don't want to just screw the rail directly into the wood. A t-nut or threaded cup is what I'm thinking.

Obviously this would apply to mounting a Picatinny rail, as well.

Any suggestions?

I bought some 10-32 stainless tee nuts from the local Ace Hardware, along with 1-1/2" button-head cap screws. The screws are also stainless, so I used a dab of anti-sieze. Probably overkill, but figured it wouldn't hurt. I could have used 1-5/8" screws but couldn't track any down between Ace & the box stores. I used my drill press and a spade bit to keep things straight. I also added flat washers the stock screws so increase their bearing surface a bit on the wood, along with a lock washer on the forestock screw (only had one metric lock on hand).
