N/A Mould on my Hw50S

I was just reading a post about a bad finish on a Cometa air rifle and the particular mention of rust. I only own four air rifles, a Walther Lgv challenger ultra, HW77 stainless, Hw50S and a Benjamin Titan. I haven’t shot my any of my four for a while but I always wipe them down with gun oil before putting them to bed.
We have moved from a hot environment to a hot and humid environment very close to the ocean (about a mile as the crow flys) so I thought I’d open the safe and have a bo peep. Glad to report no rust but the last rifle inspected was my 50S and there it was, mould on all of the checkering. I wiped it off with some furniture polish no pics sorry, but I’ve never seen this before. I think it might be prudent to check my babies more often.

I collect these and use a small plastic container ( like sourcream / chip dip with holes poked in lid add a bunch of packets that now seem to be in most everything boxed these days..

Ron, I have one in a six gun cabinet that is just a cheap stack-on that is not sealed like my safe, but it works great in there too if you are just looking for dry storage and not security.
Thanks, to keep The thread on track I'll call you later about choosing a decent gun safe.
Have a great day

I also have two cheap Stack-Ons. One for an overflow from my Liberty safe and the other I built shelving in and it’s my ammo cabinet. The one Sack-On and the Liberty both have a golden rod for humidity. Never get rust or mildew.

My wife bought me a Hippo 😂🥴
