Lots to unpack here. Power and FPS are two different thing. A '1200' fps gun shooting a 5 grain pellet is way less powerful than a big bore shooting a 200gr pellet at 500fps.

Aea has air guns specifically the 30 cal with a 32 in barrel that shoots 180 grain slugs, at 1225 FPS.

The faster you shoot slugs the more stable they get. Given the fact that you have the correct twist rate or your caliber weight and length of your projectile projectile.

I definitely agree about the inflated numbers. I saw this one posted in a video I'll look up the video and the person who posted it in the crony numbers in the accuracy. The size of the AAA valve allows it to produce that much speed. The valve is very large, which also means you have to have a very heavy hammer spring. Which means harder cocking effort. But the speed is definitely there and that aids in the long range of accuracy. Those 8830 kennels are always sold out in the 32 inch barrel version.

A slug at 1280fps is a terrible velocity for accuracy. It will be going transonic very quickly and longer range accuracy will suffer. There is a very good reason why match 22lr typically runs in the 1050fps range. If you plan on shooting long range, start subsonic. Either tune it down some or switch to a heavier slug.

Speed (Velocity) and Power (Energy) are two very different things a 65 grain projectile traveling at 950 fps has 130 fpe (foot pounds of energy), while a 44 grain projectile traveling at 1100 fps only has 118 fpe.
There are probably a majority of PCP airguns could push a very light projectile to 1100 fps, but that really doesn't mean much if the projectile is only 5.5 grain, unless you are hunting very small game.
Another thing to consider, when you reach velocity at that level, you are operating very close to the supersonic area. As the projectile slows down, and it will slow down quickly with such a low mass, you'll then enter the transonic area, and eventually the subsonic area. Each time you jump from one area to another, your POI will shift, so running ammo at these levels will result in horrible accuracy.

22LR shoots the slower speeds for one reason. They make one ammunition in each company and that has to fit how many manufacturers guns. At the higher speeds you have a higher number of guns that shoot bigger groups. And you have to remember there's a lot of different twist rates so 1,050 is the safest for 22 lr competition. And let's not forget the higher FPS spread with higher 22LR speeds.

Watch Ted's holdover. And you'll see when he's shooting slugs over 1,100 ft per second the accuracy was incredible. All the lies about not being able to shoot faster with slugs is just that lies. The faster you shoot him the better they get. Now I suppose if you start getting up in the 2000 ft per second range I don't know what would happen there. But I do know my gun shoots him out at 1100 FPS and I get a really tight group

You need to give context otherwise there’s multiple answers which is why you’re (understandably) getting this type of response. If you’re asking about power I’m assuming you’re hunting… what size game? And what is your distance to target? Also try searching the forum for your question first, this has been asked a million times, and then if that information is insufficient explain what your remaining questions are. The types of responses you’ll get to that sort of post will be drastically different.
