Most Obscure Airgun Companies

Hey all,

I always am amused at the very obscure gun manufacturers mentioned here and elsewhere. So, I thought we could make a list of the most obscure manufacturers out there, so we can shop their companies and check out their inventory.

Please post the name of the company and your experience if any with them.

My favorite is Extreme Big Bore Air Rifles. I have no experience with them because they are too expensive for me, but I love those products.

Not sure how obscure these are but my most obscure would probably be my Filarms, followed by JK Hahn Majesty and AAA Evol. All are good shooters. I REALLY like the Majesty but it needs some tuning for better efficiency. Very nice trigger and magazine plus light, beautiful, and accurate. Filarms is a great shooter but the stock is heavy for such a light action. Interesting and fairly well made and swing breech... which I like. EVOL is just amazing in design and assembly. Light, powerful, efficient , great trigger, very robust, accurate, and easily accessorized.

My DUK IL Arms Hunting Master .22 PCP revolver shoots 1" six-shot groups at 50 yards with 18.1 grain JSBs at 715 FPS or 14.3 grain JSBs at 800 FPS. Some pertinent notes from my testing include-

1/12/2018- Four consecutive six-shot groups at 50 yards with 18.1 JSBs averaged 1.19” c-t-c. The best six-shot group at 50 yards measured .65” c-t-c and hides under a nickel.

Truth be told in the sake of full disclosure, this phenomenal air pistol benefits from a Lothar Walther barrel and de-tuning by Will Piatt.

Holy cow buddy, that is so cool and I’ve never heard of that. Thanks for sharing!

There are lots of obscure airgun manufacturers. Most of them are small companies, or custom makers. Some tried there hand in the airgun business , only to go belly up . Others just create bespoke rifles in small quantities.

I have been shooting & collecting airguns for over 20 years. And over the years many have come and gone. Here is a manufacturer list of some of the guns I own or have owned :

Kauffmanz , Harper, LD, Skan, Valenti, Farco, DAQ, Falcon, Career, BBB, Barnes, etc.

I enclosed a picture of my first Bigbore. It's a 28 gauge Kauffmanz air shotgun that was made in the 70's- 80's? Which I purchased used in the late 90's.

There were 2 obscure airguns I have come across over the years. One was like RB-AOA said ,it was an air cane. The only difference being that it was a modern build, that actually shot the disposable C02 cartridge out the end like a small rocket!

The other " gun" was a short CO2 blunderbuss rifle, designed to shoot confetti only! A Happy New year gun???

I used to (maybe) own that exact gun! Mine was ser# 001. I bought it from Robert Buchannon a long time ago, and sold it after awhile to finance sumthin else. Very classy rifle for sure, with regulated air tank hidden in forend.

Man that's pretty cool. How did you like it? Dont think Ive read any reviews of ppl in the US having one. How did you like it? Closest airgun I have in quality is my ARS Thor (FX Tarantula) with a nice grade 4 stock but the Spartan is still in another class.
