Great looking shooting place im going to build one when spring comes if im feeling well just to shoot in the wintrer. ill out a little side porch on it with a 5 by 8 deck to shoot from also with a roof over it when suns out or rainin have had this idea for some time just got to get it done

@airgunmike56, Yeh, we're supposed to get upwards of 9 more inches tomorrow. Kinda like the winters I remember as a kid.
@douger, I had an Amish guy north of me building these deer blinds, and selling them for $250!

@PineappleExpress, oh, its quiet. Have hunted coons at night out there. I could hear the train in a neighboring town, coyotes in the middle of the night.

I need that here in northern Iowa. Blowing snow right now. Forecasted wind chill on Wednesday is supposed to be -57. FML

That’s a nice hide-out. Home away from home! I made myself a similar one. Was hoping to head north this weekend and enjoy shooting squirrels out of it. Hunted the farm instead. I took next Friday off. Heading up to see how much snow we will get.

Your post here as inspired me to build a snipe shed. I have to rebuild a shed anyway, as a fire two years ago took it down. I’ve got some ideas for shooting windows that can be quickly slid open, and closed up to keep the critters out, and if I’m able to get power out there that will eventually be man-cave number two.
From behind me is a pasture that’s 20+ acres where I’ve known the coyotes to come from, and in front of me is part of my parcel that’s a perfect rectangular and is approx. 40 yards wide by 150 yards long, which will make a great long distance range.
By chance, did you insulate and sheet rock the walls?

@Bigragu, no I didn’t insulate. Sealed in the cracks with caulk. Got a MyBuddy heater and a couple propane tanks inside it; that way I’ve always got a spare tank. Place heats up nice. Has full length plexiglass windows that tilt down quietly.

Thanks! You definately got a cool set up. Looks so peaceful and quiet! In fact, those corona beer commercials on tv, where you see beach front and someone’s foot twirling his toes in the sunny beach of what looks like hawaii? I’d take your set up in the snow over that, lol
