Was able to kill 13 of the vermin last night with my .22 BRK Ghost; PARD DS35 50 scope and Hades 15.89 grain ammo coming out at 1022 fps. Could only recover 6 of them due to the fencing preventing me from grabbing them with my tongs.
I’m using the recording system that’s built into the PARD scope. Then I download the footage to my phone, and use the CapCut app to edit the footage. CapCut is free in the App Store.I like it! If you don't mind, what recording system are you using?

I’m no computer whiz that’s for sure, but it’s pretty easy to do with that CapCut app. Thanks for the detailed explanation.![]()
I do think about it. Quite often actually. When I got my gun the reg was set at 155b, so I called AoA and they to thought it was hot at that setting so I kicked it down to 140b. At the 140b setting , with the power wheel on min.,I can’t get the 15.89 Hades to go any slower than 1022 fps. With the power wheel at the same setting the JSB 18.13’s are coming out at 971 fps. With the power wheel set to #17, the Monster Hades 25.39’s are coming out at 925 fps. At that same power wheel setting the 25.39 JSB Monster MRD’s are also clocking at 925 fps. I should try lowering my power wheel below 17 to see what I get with the last two pellets I listed. What suggestions do you have for settings? Thanks Leon.Great kill shots and footage. Have you considered lowering the power on your Ghost, the amount of energy you are putting out is simply hot. Particularly for shooting at sub 50 yard ranges, or even closer like your 12 yard shot on the one rat. You would still get as many kills and have an increased shot count. That said, still mighty fine shooting on your part. Am a big BRK fan myself and own a Ghost Carbine, but my main rat killer? My 17 FPE Atomic XR. Simply devastates them sub 50 yards…![]()
I was thinking about lowering the reg to right around that. I’ll keep killing those things as long as his farm is active that’s for sure. Hope it doesn’t change. You may consider setting the regulator at 125 BAR , HS on Min. and see what your chrono tells you… But more importantly? Keep safely hammering those nasty rats…![]()
Thank you for that information @BordertownDevil. I enjoy trying new pellets to kill these things. Think I’ll give them a try. All the ammo I’ve been shooting have grouped very well from my setup. And I am always switching back and forth between pellets, which makes the PARD great with its 5 different profiles. This farm my friend has has more fences than animals I think! Makes for some challenging shooting; hence a lot of close shots. I have a few locations on the place though where I can shoot out to 45 yards or so.Great videos. So satisfying to see these clips. I’m a nighttime vermin hunter as well, so this post really spoke to my heart.
At close range like you’re shooting here, I have really good luck with RWS Super Mags. They are absolutely DEVASTATING on rodents! They’re like a heavy wadcutter design and meant for exactly this type of pesting. They’re usually pretty inexpensive as well.
Good hunting, sir!
Curious if you have tried Gamo Red Fire? I have had great success using them in .177 caliber for one shot kills on Tree Rats and Asian Doves.Thank you for that information @BordertownDevil. I haven’t tried them. The ones I’m shooting are the 18.13 gr. JSB exact jumbo heavy diabolo’s, 25.39 gr. JSB monster MRD’s, 15.89 gr. JSB Hades diabolo and the 25.39 gr. Hades monster MRD’s. All shoot great out of my Ghost.Curious if you have tried Gamo Red Fire? I have had great success using them in .177 caliber for one shot kills on Tree Rats and Asian Doves.
