More Nova Vista Liberty Issues...

I have this replacement for 4ish days (this replacement is new new by the way) and I have accumulated these issues:

1. Leak. It went from 2,400psi to 2,000psi in about 24 hours

2. Pellet probe o ring is already damaged

3. One of the included magazines is broken (again)

4. Annoying whistling sound when pumping (not a problem with filling but annoys everyone in the house)

5. The cocking cycle is horrid. It has an issue where I have to pull the side lever with a good bit of force when I’m at the end of the stroke to secure it (I guess) on the sear. This has been getting progressively worse, and I don’t know why. It’s getting to the point that I almost can’t cock the rifle at all.

I wish I could keep this gun because I got 1” groups as 75yrds on the first day out. The worst thing is the cocking because I’m not sure if it’s going to suddenly fire without warning.

Also, for those that followed my thread a month ago wondering if they repaired my Liberty, I can answer that with a no. They just send me a new one. Great customer service though!

Thanks,

AK

Liberty is great for DIY tinkerers, because its laden with issues and has near ZERO part support unless your local and friends with the manufacturer. Its a great platform, but has too many downsides for a novice for me to recommend.

If you plan on sticking out the liberty, I would just keep the current gun and plan on learning its ins and outs, and the repairs/maintenance it requires, as well as necessary modifications needed to get it operating flawlessly. The hammer binding issue may be a simple fix, but one can only speculate without tearing it apart and looking into it. My guess is a removal of material somewhere and some cleaning/polishing may be in order.

Pellet probe o-ring is known issue, so you would be best to source a better quality o-ring of the same size and have replacements on hand as well as a higher quality, longer lasting one.

Good luck with whatever you decide! But unless you plan on learning all the ins and outs with pcp's, I'd consider another platform.

I bought my Liberty as a return from ATI a little over a year ago, the poppet never was right in it and it always had a slow leak. Recently I bought a PEEK poppet for it from a fellow member of GTA who's been making them for a while now and I couldn't believe how much better the gun performs, I gained almost 100fps on hi power. The original poppet in them is not very good material.

Agree and most DIYers can get a better value by purchasing the non-warrantee customer returns.

As stated, #5 is the big unknown, that may or may not require parts. I recommend returning it , vs digging into it.

#1: Most likely the poppet but can also be O-rings. Even getting a good one, you will eventually need to do these repairs. There is a good video on this, but if that is not something you want to do, then consider a refund.

#2: Common issue with these type mags and O-rings on the probe. Given early failure, most likely caused by #3. I've seen allot of defects in Liberty mags. Umarex mags are better, and have rounded edges on revolver. Mrod mags have sharper edges. Can also be a burr in the leade.

#3: Get Umarex mags

#4: As I mentioned, some have this, others don't. Doesn't bother me, but I fill from tank..
