It stopped raining and blowing so I returned to my backyard range and did some more testing. Everything for all 3 rifles was the same except for scopes, calibers, and barrell length. The barrel lengths are the ones you get when you open the box. All shots were using the JSB Hades. First up is the still errant Brocock Commander. The sponsor of the gun sent me new internal baffles made for a .30. The baffle is a ($200) Trident. It was thought that the baffle I had before, a .25, may have been a contributing factor to the inferior groups. (Others mentioned I might not know how to shoot.) The first picture below was shot at 50 yards. The upper group was with the Commander and the .30 Trident Moderator. POA was the center of the red square. Not so Good! The lower part of the same picture shows the group whent the POA was the center of the lower red Square with no moderator and just the stock muzzle break.. Not great but getting better.
Is it me or is it something else?? So I loaded up 2 magazines for the RTI Prophet and shot at the red square on the left upper side of the target. Heres' what the Prophet gave me. The flyers were the first shots out of the rifle that had been idle for quite a few weeks.
Still not satisfied I though why not try the Leshy 2 with the 250mm barrell. Here's what I got at 25 yards. The one 'flyer' was the last shot and I was so excited with the group I got a little trigger happy.. It is a semi-auto.
With that short barrell I wanted to see what would happen at 50 yards.I did 16 shots and the left half of the hits came from the first magazine full while the right half came from the last 8 shots..POA was the center of the red square. (That also shows the shots from the RTI)
In case it's impotant the Commander has a 6-25 Bushnell Match Pro.. The RTI has a 3-12 Discovery and the Leshy 2 has a 4-12 Barra. This is my experience and I'm sticking to it. Thanks for looking.
