More Average Jim and my Brocock Commander .22

Recapping briefly, shoots like a shotgun with moderator on. Groups really nicely with moderator off...at 50. Called vendor for help. They are going to send me the guts for a .30 and see if that helps. Also suggested I put an O-ring between the moderator and the end of the barrel. Did that...wouldn't even hit the splatter burst 18X24 at 50 yds. OK as other suggested I put a Donny FL on it for giggles. No joy. Same issue. Took Donny FL off and put stock muzzle break back on and total joy. 2 groups pellet in pellet about 1/4" apart and there was a slight wind at times. That was at 50. Did pull a pactch through it and it came out almost clean. Did that before I took the above shots with JSB Hades. That may have helped. It the target had been a bird on the farmers feed all shots would have been head shots. Myabe the Commander just isn't going to like moderators. The overall length is less without a moderator. That's a bonus. Chronographed it briefly. It was in the mid 900s. Just wanted to see what is was doing so didn't shoot a string to evaluate the spread in FPS.. Will do that later if it doesn' start raining.

@Jim81 I’m curious about what in the world is going on with your rifle. Good to read that you witnessed the accuracy that the rifle is capable of with your report of 50 yard groups without the moderator. Do you think the crown may be damaged? You seem diligent in your troubleshooting efforts so I’m confident you’ll get to the bottom of this.

Well to ass mroe questions I took the moderator off and opened the end to see what was going to be the process when the .30 guts arrived. Put it back on and tightened it back down and got good groups with it. I was shooting the probably not so accurate pellets, the Hades. It seems others have said the diabolo extreme tend to shoot better more consistently. Went out again today and did chrono finally settled in about 920 or so then want off the rgulator as knew it would. Dropped clunck to 188. So how low can you go, I now know. (Sick Jim). More experimentation and "fun". I don't enjoy tinkering. I buy a gun and want it to shoot the darn birds on the farmmers grain out of the box. My FX Dreamline compact tactical did it as well as my Daystate Pulsar. Well some more experimentation tomorrow. Gotta be in the moderator or barrel shroud somewhere.
