Western Airguns Mordax 22

Well, I sure do hope that you love your Mordax as I love mine! Personally I like the foldable stock which comes OEM on the gun, with the OEM part which increases LOP. To that I've also added a Magpul PRS Extended rubber 'recoil pad' for just a little more length + non-slip at the shoulder. Got the Magpul part at Amazon, and the Western Spacer at AoA.

These guns, in my mind, are so accurate that they deserve more than a red dot or even just something like a 3x optic, at least for my eyes. But something with zero eye relief works nice and provides a big field of view. I had an MTC Viper 3-12x24 and I liked its small size, low weight and (in my mind) perfect zoom range for a compact hunter gun. And I overdid the moderator on mine with a Huma-Air 40mm can, which brings the sound down to a mile 'pfffut'. Was happily surprised that there is not much noise out of the action with the Mordax, as I have with the (more powerful) Sidwinder Compact. So what you put on the muzzle of Mordax has much more impact on the gun's overall noise level.

So many other things one can bolt onto these guns, but to me it kind of defeats the purpose of the tool.

Congrats on your new incoming Mordax!

I'm one of those guys that bolted stuff to his Mordax with the hand guard, forward grip, sling strap, and a lazer/flashlight combo. I had a red dot on it at first which worked great, was light weight and had great sight acquisition. I took that Monstrum LPVO off of another rifle I have so I could shoot targets a little further out and it also works great 👍🏼!

It's interesting that your Mordax has a quieter action that your Sidewinder Compact. I have a Sidewinder and the loudness of the action is such a limitation for the gun. I have a Huben K1 that is MUCH quieter even when shooting at higher power than the Sidewinder.

How much of it do you attribute to your head not being on the action vs. actually having made the action quieter? if you dry fire them when held at arms length is there still a big difference?

But your comment on the effectiveness of the moderator is telling - even with the full length Huma 40 on mine and the muzzle buried into a stack of pillows, the Sidewinder is much louder than the Huben without the pillows. So on the Sidewinder the moderator is clearly not the limiting factor.

Thanks! I've become very fond of this rifle, I travel for work and it is easy to take with me everywhere.
The scope has an adjustable objective to eliminate parallax error. I find it to be a pretty nice sight for close to medium ranges which this gun excells at. It let's me get out to the extent of its range while the reflex red dot started obscuring targets at the further end of the guns range.

Where did you get your accessories?

I got the handguard from member louie4321 ([email protected]) on this forum. Most of the other things I ordered off of Amazon. The forward grip was marketed for a crossbow but it works perfectly. The ODB moderator and stock extender I bought from Airguns of Arizona when I bought the gun.
