Mongoose Pest control

Here in Hawaii mongoose are considered injurious wildlife. Mongoose are responsible for endangerment of many native birds. These were shot in an hours time at a local chicken farm. I hope to get some footage of the next outing.

That's approximately one mongoose every 3 minutes. I wish I could get some action like that!

Mongooses are one of the major carriers of murine typhus. Fleas which infest mongooses can also bite humans. While I applaud the effort to irradiate this invasive species, I trust you're careful about handling them, and take the necessary precautions?

I was on photo shoot on a golf course, I kept seeing these guys and wished I had one of my air rifles with me. Throwing golf balls at them didn't work!!

I take it this was a daylight opperation. What is the rifle used, ranges shot from, etc. I wish squirrels here would be deemed by the government to be carriers of some horrible disease and ordered eradicated. Tell us the details islander!

My uncle use to live in the Big Island. I still remember he use to complain of the "long rats" that use to kill his chickens and steel their eggs. Good hunt! Mahalo

I use gloves and lime then throw them in a garbage bag then to the dump they go. If i'm missing something I am your student. 

I have meetings with some golf clubs in the weeks to come. Hope to be helping them with that problem also. 

Wildcat.22 got the job done. The range was 25 to 45 yards. There is a trash bin that the farm puts dead chickens in and the mongoose love it. So it really was like shooting fish in a barrel. 

I actually read about some farmers that have free range chickens and had mongoose killing them. Hope to one day help them also I have the chance.
