Insanity -

I too have looked into this, and as Keone has pointed out, the most generous "mods" I have done was to the trigger on my Crosman F4. There's some videos on YouTube that show a few different things. One addresses the trigger smoothness and pull by using a 5x8x2.5mm RC bearing. While doing this, some people also remove the "lawyer" spring from the bottom of the trigger at the same time. The other "mod" involves replacing the M3x5mm factory trigger adjustment screw with a M3x8mm screw, which provides much better adjustment and can drastically lighten the "2nd-stage" pull on the trigger. I ended up doing all of the above, with the exception of removing the "lawyer" spring, although I am considering yanking that out too someday. But even with just adding the bearing and swapping the machine screws on the trigger, it makes an amazing difference in the trigger pull. Other than that, I am not sure what else I would "mod," although figuring out a way to mount some iron sights to this air rifle is enticing.

Looks to me like there is very little to do with this trigger group.

what trigger group is that from ? what gun are you tuning up there, intensaty - cause that doesnt look like familiar .... i was about to tell you that you can order ten of those radio control car wheel bearing on ebay for under ten bucks, and i even order the bushings for that bearing - which are 1mm shorter ( i use those when trigger is just too damn hairline with bearing mod )...... but that is not a gamo 440/ bam18 style of trigger , bearing trick no good there. that link to airgunz of ariz shows a cbt trigger (like np2 rifles had) , but what you have is even different than that...... what gun is that ?

So the shims are large steel washers and the pivot screw was so loose I didn't need a screwdriver to remove it. So I cleaned lubed and put loctite on it. Then I sanded down here the hinge screw is so I can now tighten it without removing the stock. Thanks TiredRooster for sharing that it helped me out a lot. I tapped the trigger to accept a M3x.5 screw. It looks like its in the way but i find that i can put my finger on the trigger more consistently. My finger tip is dumb but the side is still very sensitive. Other than that I seem to now be doing better shooting it as now I think my grouping will improve with better pellets. My next step is to fire lap it if all else fails I will just have to get a better gun and regulate this to attic plinking. Because all I can hear is the piston slaming and the report of the pellet smacking the target. It could be the way my attic is insulated but to hear the piston slam and a pellet smack is pretty good I may have to take some audio and see if there is some muzzle report. I did notice that the auto safety can be removed and still have a safety just have to remove a slide and a spring. At this point in time I will not be removing the auto safety as its not too annoying and I intuitively set it to fire when i put my finger on the trigger.

Baseline second row 5 shots CPHP.

Overly loose pivot set up and Umarex seemed to be on top of that plastic shim and used steel washers.

The only trigger mod that I can do aside from polishing the mating surfaces and frankly now its not so bad. I wanted a smooth hair trigger so I messed with the original screw in and out then took it out. Still don't like it but it breaks cleaner I suppose, it seems to be the hair I want but it could be smoother and lighter. I may take it further and take a longer screw chuck it in a drill and dome the end with a dremel. I still do not understand how pushing the seere into the NP releases it I just don't, there is not other mechanism in there that lets it drop down. I even fired it with out the stock on and it's too fast to see what's happening.
