Moderator baffle setup help.

I'm messing around with the tiny little Ataman moderator for my AP16. Once pulled apart it is clear that there are multiple ways the expansion chambers can be configured. There is the equivalent of 6 spacers and 3 dividers. Currently I have it setup with spacing 2 / 2 / 1 / 1 and I've added some felt and mesh wire to each chamber.

What I'd like help with is figuring out if there is possibly a better baffle setup which will reduce noise more. Such as spacings like: 3 / 2 / 1, 2 / 1 / 2 / 1, etc. Willing to try a variety of options but maybe someone knows if it's better putting a larger expansion first, or in the middle, or at the end.

In my testing, I've seen blast exits the muzzle in a narrow column. I like to have a large chamber in rear to give it space to spread out to a wider cone. Baffles in a cone shape are most effective. The tighter the clearance the better. I have one that is 6mm on a 5.5mm gun. On several I only put felt in the last chamber. Though, in larger ones, I may put it in a couple. Volume and stripping/disruption ability are king.

I have found it beneficial to install half of the cone baffles in a moderator in the "wrong" direction. Somehow disrupting the flow pattern I can only assume? Lastly some felt for dampening really takes the edge off.

Go find someone local who owns an AZ

gun and shine a light inside. The exit hole is super duper unreal close to the 22 pellet size here's the best pics can do with my phone but you can see with your eyes find someone local you're bound to find an AZ gun. Man that looks like zero wiggle room clearance compared to the diameter of the pellet!!! Looks like the pellet is less than a hair smaller than the exit hole!!!

Oh if you can find someone with an OLD FALCON UK LDC that's a direct copy of AZ's.
