Help; I have a friend that has a Model 397PA with Serial Number 0977——-. It is from her father’s estate and she was asking me for pricing range. She did the internet search and saw the various prices, but as usual the range is huge. It is in VG shape .177 and in the original box with paperwork. Can one of you experts provide some guidance that I can pass on?

That's an O in the serial. It represents October, the next two numbers are the year. 1997. Currently on ebay a nickel plated model 397PA with box and papers may fetch 275-350.USD. Knock $75 off for same in black finish. Never know, you could get more on a crazy day. Private sale would be $100 less.
